16th Craft Fair Okinawa
We are pleased to report that the 16th Craft Fair Okinawa, held over two days on April 25 (Sat) and 26 (Sun), 2026, has successfully come to a close.
This year, many talented artisans from various studios participated, filling the venue with unique and inspiring works.
Food trucks also joined the event, adding even more vibrancy and excitement to the atmosphere.
Although we experienced periods of cloudy skies and rain, we were truly grateful to see so many visitors come to the fair.
At each booth, new encounters and meaningful exchanges took place, which brought us great joy.
To all the visitors who attended, and to all the artists who exhibited their work, we extend our heartfelt appreciation.
Preparations for the next Craft Fair Okinawa have already begun.
We look forward to welcoming everyone again, and we will continue working to support and further enrich the culture and arts of our region.
We sincerely ask for your continued support.
Finally, to everyone who contributed to the 16th Craft Fair Okinawa, we offer our deepest gratitude.
Thank you very much.

About
About Craft Fair Okinawa
Craft Fair Okinawa began in 2012, launched by craft artists based in Nanjo City with the goal of “sharing creations directly from the makers.”
Thanks to the support of many visitors, the event now attracts around 10,000 attendees each year and continues to grow in popularity.
Every year, professional artisans from both inside and outside Okinawa gather to exhibit and sell their works, while also sharing the unique appeal and culture of the region.
A wide variety of genres participate—pottery, woodwork, glass, lacquerware, dyeing & weaving, leather, accessories, audio equipment, musical instruments, art, crafts, food and more.
Workshops, hands-on experiences, and food booths from popular local shops also make this a lively event for families.
We also embrace the theme of “connecting culture and local industry,” offering training programs for young creators and supporting the preservation of traditional culture.
By deepening the connection between makers and visitors, we aim to create a space that goes beyond a simple sales event—one that contributes to the future of Okinawan craft culture.

Up ClothesHigh School Student Group
Up Clothes
Okinawan high school students shaping the future of clothing
We wear clothes every day without thinking much about them.
Yet behind the scenes, countless garments are thrown away—even though many of them could still be worn.
UpClothes was created by high school students who wanted to change this reality.
We collect used clothing and deliver it to people who need it, remake old fabric into new items, and hold workshops to teach children about environmental issues and sustainability.
Our vision is a future where everyone can take part in circular fashion while having fun.
And we hope to pass this cycle on to the next generation.
One piece of clothing can begin a brand-new story.
UpClothes is here to spark that beginning.
Panel Exhibition
We will showcase our activities, the issue of clothing waste, and our upcycling initiatives through a panel display.
Please enjoy the ideas and perspectives unique to high school students.
Peace Mark Craft Workshop
Using fabric from old clothes, participants can create their own peace mark.
It’s a hands-on activity that encourages children and adults to think about “peace” and “sustainability” in a fun and creative way.

Storytelling Session
Okinawa experienced war in the past.
Instead of turning away from the fear associated with war, we hope to create a moment to reflect on how we can pass on the stories of what happened here to future generations.
After the storytelling, participants can join the peace mark workshop to express their thoughts through creation.
